Listeners impressions

The lectures "I still drive - but I don't walk" are gaining in visibility. The responses of listeners – young people, lecture organizers and others – are very important to us.
On the basis of their responses we prepare, upgrade and improve our lectures, ...

Here are some responses of listeners who have attended the lectures.

Dear All,

we thank Mr. Matej for an interesting presentation of his story and the consequences of traffic accidents.

He immediately reached the audience and they all listened to him carefully.
When evaluating the project the lecture was praised by everyone. They said it made them think. They did not only describe different behaviour when driving, but also stressed the fact that they began to be more aware of how small their everyday problems are. They admire his will to live a near-normal life and be involved in so many activities.

The only remark that some had was that the selected time of the lecture was not appropriate (on the previous night their peer from a neighbouring school had a fatal motorcycle accident and a few girls left the room when we were viewing images of traffic accidents).

We, the teachers, were also very pleased. We must commend the well thought out PP-presentation. By providing statements of disabled persons without any additional moralizing (young people do not like that) it drew attention to some of the most common causes of traffic accidents (speeding, not using a seat belt, ...), while the gentleman who had suffered a head injury and has severe difficulties with communication warned us about alcohol, which was better than a thousand words.

Your project is very good and efficient (we hope it will influence students in the long run). We plan on repeating the lecture next year, of course with your help.

Thank you for enabling our students to attend the meeting.

Kind regards,

Marica Ramovš, Novo mesto School of Economics, Ulica talcev 3 a, 8000 Novo mesto

"Most of all I liked the fact that after such a severe accident HE still remains grounded. I remember him talking about what happened and describing the changes he is going through now that he is in a wheelchair. More members should attend the lectures."
